Each bucket needs half a million of investment to be able to start activities and product development. When the bucket is full, the timeline will start on the Return of Investment.
The aim is to provide returns at ten year intervals, with the option to either take the percentage you purchased out in full or reinvest. When full infrastructure roll out is demonstrating value, we may also agree full exit strategies at individual country level.
Bucket 1 needs to be filled up before Bucket 2, and so on. Should there be any overspill, and we are unable to return the funds, we will dedicate a 5th Bucket that can be spread across all four solutions.
Activities that link the buckets, either through a product that works on more than one issue, or the potential for Twendara credit trading across these markets are to be funded based on staggered contributions from each bucket. These have a multiplier effect in that the returns are likely to be higher, but also take longer to achieve. There is the risk of percentage slip, in that we might need more funds, which leads to more finance gathering. This may be offset by complex profits, in that the solutions that are more complicated to deliver are more likely to gain from further sales and training. To be included on these is optional.
An administration charge will be levied to allow for stability. This will look at including feeding into some other aspects of the programme such as the knowledge and empowerment transfer cycle that allows solutions to be transferred when necessary, and otherwise created, owned and improved locally.
Next Steps
We are currently accepting Expressions of Interest only at this time. This is the first step in gauging support for the project before we proceed with fundraising and further development.
If you're interested in learning more or staying updated, please submit your Expression of Interest here. No commitment is required at this stage—just let us know you're interested, and we’ll keep you informed as things progress.
